The Communication Trust is a coalition of more than 50 not-for-profit organisations. Working together we support everyone who works with children and young people in England to support their speech, language and communication.
Our vision is that every child and young person is enabled to communicate to the very best of their ability.
Our work focuses on supporting children and young people who struggle to communicate because they have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) as well as supporting all children and young people to reach their potential with their communication skills.
We raise awareness across the workforce and the voluntary sector and support them to develop their confidence, skills and understanding of speech, language and communication to help ensure that every child and young person gets the right support from the right people at the earliest possible time.
There are a range of resources available on our website for practitioners and parents, many of which are free to download. To access these resources and find out more about our work please visit The Communication Trust website.
The Trust was founded by Afasic, BT, the Council for Disabled Children and I CAN. They recognised that in order to make a lasting impact for children and young people, particularly those with SLCN, we need to work collaboratively and collectively.
Since 2007 we have brought together over 50 organisations, combining the efforts of the voluntary sector and Government to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
